The whole third grade went on our first field trip at the end of January. We went to the Science museum and planetarium. The planetarium show was about the movement of the sun as it appears in the sky. We learned that not only does the angle of the sun's rays shift from direct to indirect as the seasons change, but it rises further north and south as the seasons change as well. Seeing the projector that creates all the constellations in the planetarium was very cool.
We also had lots of fun wandering around the museum with our awesome volunteer chaperones. We climbed the rock wall, went in an explorer simulator, learned about electricity and physics. Some if us even got to dig for dinosaur bones.
We really appreciate all the parents who volunteered and looked after us on this fun trip! Thanks so much! We are looking forward to another field trip to attend a performance of a local orchestra and later in the year we will get to go to the butterfly exhibit at Strong Museum! Check back for posts to see pictures and read about those trips!
